This site is two things I grew up with layered on top of each other: a terminal, and Persian design.
the colors
The accent is firouzeh, Persian turquoise, the stone and the color you see on domes and tilework across Iran. The warm gold is saffron, used the way you would use actual saffron: sparingly, where it counts. They sit on a warm charcoal instead of terminal black, and on parchment in the light theme.
the star
The eight pointed star in the favicon and section marks is a khatam motif, two overlapping squares, the basic unit of Persian geometric patternwork. The faint lattice behind the homepage hero is the same star, tiled.
the verse
The footer carries a line from Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, the epic that also named Rakhsh: توانا بود هر که دانا بود, "capable is the one who is wise." A thousand year old comment about the relationship between knowledge and ability, on a site about systems that are honest about what they know.
the name
Cyrus is کوروس, Kuros, in Persian. That is where kuros.io comes from.
the stack
Astro, static output, content collections for the case studies and notes. JetBrains Mono for anything structural, system sans for prose, Vazirmatn for Farsi. No frameworks on the client, no trackers, no analytics. The heaviest thing on any page is the evidence: the demo videos, which only load if you press play.
Built and tested with a Node test suite that checks the built HTML, because a site that argues for showing your evidence should have receipts too. Source lives on GitHub.
